Procrastination can be an incapacitating and chronic problem for college and university students. Everyone procrastinates from time to time. Students procrastinate to enjoy spare time, get involved in extracurricular activities and many other reasons. This can lead to long term penalties and short term penalties and preventing students from reaching optimal potential. Procrastination is as result of an underlying  psychological issue. Most procrastinators justify their actions by saying they work best under pressure. However, studies have shown that procrastinators receive lower scores than nonprocrastinators. While everyone procrastinates from time to time not everyone is a procrastinator.
